Speaking

Wellness, leadership, and a life built on reinvention.

Diana Stobo brings a rare perspective to the stage: more than two decades in the wellness industry, the experience of a female founder and CEO building an award-winning luxury wellness resort, and a life that has required her to reinvent herself more than once.

Diana Stobo, keynote speaker and founder of The Retreat Costa Rica

She speaks about what she knows firsthand — the future of wellness, entrepreneurship, hospitality, female leadership, and building a business around what you believe in.

But Diana’s perspective is also deeply personal. Her own health struggles led her to completely change the way she lived and eventually spend decades helping others do the same. Later came divorce after 26 years of marriage, starting over in her fifties, building The Retreat Costa Rica, and finding love and a new version of life again.

Those experiences shape the way Diana thinks about wellness today. To her, wellbeing isn’t just about what you eat, how you exercise, or the latest treatment. It’s about how you move through change, how you care for yourself through different stages of life, and having the courage to keep evolving.

Today, as Founder and CEO of The Retreat Costa Rica, Diana remains at the forefront of a rapidly changing wellness and hospitality industry. She brings together decades of knowledge with the perspective of someone still actively building, learning, traveling, questioning, and looking at what comes next.

Warm, candid, and deeply knowledgeable, Diana moves easily between personal storytelling and bigger conversations about wellness, business, hospitality, and leadership — leaving audiences with both something to think about and something they can take back into their own lives.

What Diana speaks about

Speaking Topics

01

Have We Overengineered Wellbeing?

We have more wellness tools, treatments, medications, data, and technology than ever before — yet many people still don’t feel well. Drawing from more than two decades in the wellness industry, Diana explores where innovation can transform health, where the fundamentals still matter, and whether our pursuit of optimization has started to disconnect us from our own bodies.

02

Building a Business — and a Life — That Evolves With You

Diana didn’t build The Retreat Costa Rica at 25. She built it in her fifties, during a chapter of enormous personal change. She shares what she’s learned about entrepreneurship, trusting your instincts, taking risks later in life, knowing when to change direction, and continuing to evolve both personally and professionally.

03

Women, Leadership & Reinvention

An honest conversation about being a female founder and CEO, building and leading through change, and navigating the expectations women face around ambition, aging, leadership, relationships, and starting again. Diana explores what happens when the life or identity you’ve built no longer fits — and the possibilities that can emerge when you’re willing to create something new.

04

The New Wellness Traveler

Wellness travel has moved far beyond the spa. Drawing from her experience building and operating The Retreat Costa Rica, Diana explores what today’s wellness traveler is really looking for, how expectations around luxury and wellbeing are changing, and why the future of hospitality will be increasingly shaped by how a place makes us feel.

05

Wellness Through Every Chapter

Diana’s understanding of wellness began with her own health struggles, but it has continued to evolve through motherhood, entrepreneurship, divorce, aging, starting over, and finding love again. A broader and deeply personal conversation about what it really means to be well — and why our definition of wellness should be allowed to change as we do.
