It is sometimes overwhelming when we discover something that may be deficient in our diet, and then we go crazy trying to reboot the system with the magical missing mineral. Don’t fret — many foods have different minerals that cover a lot of bases. As long as you are eating a diet with a huge variety of produce, grains, and such, you will be covered. But it’s important to check in once in a while to make sure you aren’t forgetting something.

Dr. Gabriel Cousens MD, author of Spiritual Nutrition is very adamant about the body’s need for sulfur …

“Sulfur connects the spirit and the body, mind to action, thoughts to action, and is the bridge between the worlds of the higher planes and the lower planes. Sulfur deficiency has been associated with depression, irritability, anger, rage, remorse, more emotional reliability, and more fear-based living and hypersensitivity. A normal mind is calmer and you are able to concentrate better. Sulfur is an important part of brain function and important to the heart, ligaments, joint function, liver, adrenals, pineal, and pituitary function.”

Sulfur is a mineral in our body that is needed for enzyme activity, hormone balance, and function of the immune system. It is an important component of collagen and connective tissues that assists the body in preventing inflammation and facilitating connective tissue repair. It is very useful for healing skin and digestive problems.

Top 20 signs of sulfur deficiency:

Itchy skin or scalp

Eczema

Acne

Diaper rash

Migraine headaches

Flatulence

indigestion

Vomiting

Diarrhea

Hemorrhoids

Impotence

Painful and irregular menstruation

Sore throat

Toothache

Nosebleeds

Measles

Joint pain

Hay fever

Fever (hot and cold sweats)

Bed wetting

Breastfeeding problems

Some key sulfur-rich foods are:

Aloe vera

Artichoke

Arugula

Avocado

Bee pollen

Brussel sprouts

Dill

Hemp seeds

Horseradish

Kale

Legumes

Lima beans

Peaches

Pears

Radishes

Spinach

Strawberries

Tomatoes

Turnips

If you are noticing any of these symptoms, turn up the volume on your sulfuric foods.

We are all striving for balance and connection. Minerals are what ground us to the Earth, connect us to natural vibrations, increase over-all health and spiritual enrichment. If you find yourself worrying about “not getting enough” — relax — it will only cause more deficiency. Just love yourself with healthful and LIVE food.

In health and love,

All life forms are energetic beings.

Emotions and emotional responses are the stirring of our energy.

The Dalai Lama says, “The purpose of our lives is to be happy.”
That is the ultimate goal, and in our pursuit for personal happiness,
we are motivated to continue at all costs to find that place of bliss.
It is human nature to avoid that which is painful. We learn how to
navigate our lives with as little pain and confrontation as possible.

Eating toxic foods, drinking alcohol, and taking drugs all act as suppressants
for our energy in motion. They all act as “band-aids” for our pain. Guilt
and fear hold us back from making appropriate changes to a happier life.

To truly find happiness, we must take a more holistic approach.
Initiate the “healing response” and the body will mend itself.
This is true for emotional healing, as well.

If you truly want to transform an unwanted, negative emotion, you can
begin by becoming aware of the sensation that emotion brings to the body.
Place your attention on it, let it inform you. Be curious, bare witness as it
moves you in different directions. No need to fix it, judge it, or figure it out.
Just be aware of all the information it brings. It will increase at times and
decrease as well. Images may appear and memories may arise. But know
that these are all yours, unique to you, because you are energy in motion.

“I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a
desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day.”

~ E. B. White

Surrender to your healing.

Surrender to your happiness.

In health & love,

Diana

1.	Have a lot of produce on hand at all times. Stock up on more than you will use in a week. Don’t be worried about things going bad, it’s produce, it’s perishable. But . it is more likely to be eaten if it is available..and the temptation to stray will be lessened.

2. Eat enough calories to sustain you each day .Big mistake on a raw food diet is that many people consider it a diet and try to count calories, We do NOT count calories, fresh produce is naturally low in calories and therefore may be eaten in abundance. Usually eat twice as much as you normally would. You may feel fuller than a cooked diet, because of the high water content.
3.	Have a support system. Whether it is your family or friends that support and encourage you, find support in a community. Link with people on facebook with like minds, join a group or become a member of The Naked Zone.
4.	Educate yourself. Don’t believe everything you hear or read. But definitely read. Read books, read web pages, read testionials, but more than anything, educate yourself by listening to your body. Pay attention to each affect you may have with any given food that you eat. Listen to what it wants and feed the need.
5.	Don’t restrict yourself EVER. Encoutrage yourself with loving affirmations, let the body guide you. Telling yourself you will never eat cooked food again will stress you out and make you retaliate against your own goals. Treat yourself kindly, focus on One day at a time- One meal at a time.
The goal of a Raw food diet is to feel the best you can feel- Be the best you can be. If you are not enjoying your healing process than you are not healing.

To help your kids have a healthful lunch, try to pack them a cold lunch as often as possible. By substituting standard lunch items with more healthful choices, you can give them a lunch that is tasty and good for them. For example, a sandwich on sprouted-grain bread or tortilla, a few carrots or grapes, water or 100% juice, all-natural whole-grain crackers with almond butter and dates to spread on top, or gluten-free pasta with veggies, olive oil, and sea salt.

Regular grocery stores, and even discount grocery stores, are carrying more and more organic, whole-grain, and natural products such as crackers and cereals, organic spinach and carrots, organic apples (when they’re in season), Simply Orange and Simply Apple juices, almond and coconut milk, and even gluten-free pasta.

If you shop wisely, you can find natural, healthful items at the same price as traditional items. Trader Joe’s is a great store for natural, preservative-free, and organic groceries at reasonable prices. Some examples of traditional vs. Naked lunch items at Trader Joe’s:

Romance is in the air, and nothing makes you feel giddy and warm like chocolate flowers and a delicious kiss.

Fresh strawberries symbolize love because the rich, red color is a trigger for romance. Adding chocolate releases theobromine for an overall sensation of LOVE.

Try this favorite recipe for your sweet valentine.

Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries

Fun and delicious, this recipe gives you all the endorphin-raising benefits of chocolate with heart-healthy ingredients. To see a demonstration of how to make it, watch this video.

Just make the Chocolate Fondue on page 106 of Get Naked Fast! or in the Desserts section of my web site. You’ll need:

1/4 cup raw cacao powder
1/4 cup agave syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tablespoons melted coconut oil
Strawberries (or whatever fruit you like)

Dip fresh, firm, bright red strawberries (preferably organic) in the
chocolate and scrape away any excess. Sprinkle grated coconut,
raw chocolate chips, or chopped nuts on top if you want. Let them sit for about a half an hour or put them in the refrigerator to let the chocolate harden, and display
the berries on a pretty plate.

Enjoy!

It’s true that real food can turn you on. Not packaged or processed foods, but the whole foods that come from the Earth.

Certain foods have been used as aphrodisiacs for centuries, and I found that putting them together into a salad makes a superdelicious meal. The stimulating qualities of each of the ingredients in the Aphrodisiac Salad can have a very pleasing affect on your libido. So it’s one of my favorite dishes to make on “date night.” Make sure the person you are sharing this with is ready for some “lovin’.”

Aphrodisiac Salad

You can watch a demonstration of how to make this salad HERE. Here’s what you’ll need:

Salad
1 head butter lettuce, frisee, or spinach
1 avocado, diced
1 orange cut into segments
5 strawberries, sliced
½ cup marcona almonds

Sexy Fig Dressing
¼ cup Udos oil (or flax seed oil)
¼ cup orange juice, freshly squeezed
2 calimyrna or kalamata figs, soaked in water for 1 hour (reserve water)
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
½ teaspoon sea salt

Enjoy!

I know how hard it is to focus on yourself, especially when you need it most. Karen gets big Kudos for taking the Naked Challenge during the Holidays. It shows a level of commitment and surrender to her goals. Sometimes we just have to surrender. I spent an evening out on the town with Karen, Holiday Parties and cheer. Karen brought along some water in a fancy bottle and stayed focus throughout the night. Pretty darn impressive for a self proclaimed wine enthusiast.

Gas and Bloating can occur when you first begin a raw food diet. It has in the past discouraged many from moving forward. It is important to consider this discomfort as the build up of a huge release. When LIVE food causes you tummy pain, think about the fiber and cleansing greens going into the body providing movement for old residual waste.

Watch Karen HERE as she takes on Day 2 with enthusiasm and humor…

Hunger is not an issue when doing the Naked Challenge. Karen had two very large Green Smoothies and a wonderful Sea Weed Wrap, detox tea and water.

She ate when she was hungry and didn’t feel the need for much more.

She did express that her belly felt distended and she was having some gurgling and “backwards burps”

As witnessed with Ryan, a healing crisis may occur, I think for Karen it is going to be in the belly…..

Time will tell..

When you commit to something life changing, everything falls into place.
Karen is a beautiful strong woman who has decided to take on a new way of eating. Does she have a weight loss goal in mind? Absolutely, she does.
Not everyone has the same goals, I am here to support her in what she wants for herself. With a meet you where you are approach a lifestyle change unfolds as you wish for.

On the first day of “The Naked Challenge” we measured Karen to see what visible changes can be made in the 10-day challenge

Karen calls her belly her Champagne Cork, I’m really not sure what that means, but it sounds funny enough for me to share

On Day 1, she has a 34 inch waist

Karen started her day off with the Morning Glory Smoothie, her first liquid meal that wasn’t wine. Although she doesn’t claim to have a need for Caffeine, I thought we would ease her into the first day. Watch Karen HERE as she indulges in her “coffee house” treat.

After a rigorous workout, Karen pops into make her second liquid meal of the day. With Fruits and veggies blended together, Karen is excited about the taste of her afternoon treat. Watch Karen HERE make her Beauty Smoothie.

A wrap and a salad for later in the day. She is complete…and ready for bed.

We will follow her progress through each day….. as Karen changes transforms herself ONE meal at a time.
